Where you live - how long do doctor let you go over your due date?

I am in the USA. Here they let you go up to 14 days or 2 weeks late (42 weeks gestation). Towards the end they check you more thoroughly and might do more testing to make sure the baby is okay. With my 2nd daughter I was induced when she was 10 days late because she was said to be big and I was 2-3 centimeters dialated from week 38. She was 9 lbs 9 oz and 22 1/2 inches long. They had given me nonstress tests and ultrasounds the couple weeks before that.
