Do you think its right or wrong for close friends to kiss lol?

my ex wants to be friends and nothing else i know he likes me deep down still and i was like can i have a kiss please and he was like nah friends do not kiss only on the cheek like get the hell out of here why cant we kiss its not that serious . lol
