When does a man know he's ready for marriage?

2 years and no marriage proposal. I am in a relationship with a wonderful guy for two years. I want to move on in the relationship because I love him and I know he loves me too. We have been dating for two years. I recently got pregnant and suffered a miscarriage at 6 weeks gestation. WHen I told him I was pregnant he immediately started talking about plans to get married and where we will live, I miscarried and the talks ended. He says that he still feels the same that he wants to get married but that he was "rushing it" because of my pregnancy. I told him if after two years you don't know if you want to stay in this relationship or go then you will never know. We don't live together, but during my miscarriage he was very supportive he stayed with me and took care of me. I love him and I want to move on with our relationship but I don't wait on him forever to propose. Please advice.
